Enhancing Spiritual Wellness | The Cougar’s Byte
There are many aspects of wellbeing that students need to balance in order to achieve overall wellbeing. One of these aspects is spiritual wellbeing, which is related to finding general purpose. While this seems very daunting, there are smaller things students can do to take steps towards maintaining positive spiritual well-being.
Many people find harmony and improve their spiritual well-being through religion. There is a campus ministry in Kean that students with recognized Catholic chaplains and ministers can use. You will receive office space in which the students can receive spiritual advice. The current Campus Minister, Michael Lewon, can be contacted at [email protected] and the current Chaplin priest, Father Dr. William Sheridan can be contacted at [email protected]
There are also several campus religious groups with many different variations that students can join. Here students will find a group of like-minded people who may even feel they are a safe place.
The Muslim student organization is located on campus and its goal is to improve knowledge of Islam on campus through events and meetings. Many of its members are very well informed about the religion and want to share their knowledge. You can be contacted at [email protected]
Another organization on campus is Kean University Hillel, which aims to bring Jewish and non-Jewish students together on campus. You want to inspire students through religion and teach the practices and culture of Judaism. The Kean Gospel Choir is an organization dedicated to spreading their faith through music in the Kean community and beyond. This is a place where students can connect through both music and religion, and can be a great place for students. They encourage everyone to join, regardless of their knowledge or musical background. You can be contacted at [email protected]

Another organization at Kean is the Catholic Newman Club, where Catholics can create a positive and supportive environment on campus.
