Prashan Agarwal, former CEO of Gaana and co-founder of the online real estate marketplace PropTiger, has teamed up with Aniket Lila, former Nexus Venture Partners, to launch OMI, an online spiritual and wellness platform that aims to use ancient Vedic methods with a new age lifestyle.
OMI has received undisclosed cash from Nexus Venture and aims to revolutionize the spiritual wellness market in India valued at more than $ 10 billion.
“Today the world is facing a multitude of changes in our lives, in terms of the way we live, connect, we hug, unprecedented things we go through and this has affected the spiritual, devotional and mental well-being impacted everyone. ” from us. In addition, the spread of the Internet and digital payments in the Indian population is at an all-time high and growing. This dynamic makes the market ripe for innovation in this category, “said Agarwal Co-Founder and CEO.
“We are revolutionizing the nearly 4,000 year old market in India by bringing the best of ancient India to Millennials through a practical, private, holistic and personalized platform. OMI will be your personal spiritual guide. Our mission is to make the world go.” a happier place. Most Indians are spiritual and that gives us a blue opportunity, “added Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Lila.
According to Pratik Poddar, Principal of Nexus Venture Partners, “We look forward to partnering with Prashan and Aniket. This is a deeply India specific problem with very large existing prize pools. Nobody approached the market in a millennial-centric way and developed a product-oriented, scalable and trustworthy solution. Having known the founders for many years, I am delighted to be working with them to crack this $ 10 billion market! ”
Commenting on the unknown amount of funding from Nexus Venture Partners, Agarwal said, “The funding will be used primarily to recruit talent in product, technology and operations. We are looking for executives with a passion for the stage and who would like to support us from day 0 in setting up OMI. “
“Our goal is to improve the wellbeing of 10 million people in 5 years and create the largest spiritual wellness community in the world. To get started, you can consult our ‘Astro Guides’ on the OMI platform and receive a personalized healing plan that includes activities such as meditation, mantra singing, affirmations and journaling. We are currently focused on bundling a fragmented offering and building a trustworthy brand. As OMI scales you will see us expand the platform and add many more services to help you improve your spiritual wellbeing, ”added Lila.
